Irregular Choice are looking for a Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper

Design Asylum is the successful international end to end footwear/fashion company of the brand Irregular Choice, with international offices, retail, e-commerce, production/shipping/warehouse etc. 

The UK head office in Brighton is looking for an Accountant with good all-around financial accounting knowledge, plus experience in retail/stock an advantage. This job would suit someone capable of handling diverse and challenging work in a young progressive company. 

  • Management of 16 week cash flow forecast issued to management weekly 
  • Weekly management reports – issuing timely branch comparison and sales and margin overview reports to management 
  • Issuing of period (4 weekly) accounts 
  • Compilation of statutory accounts 
  • Intercompany reconciliations and reviews 
  • Submitting vat returns and EC Sales lists to HMRC 
  • Preparation of year end accounts pack including calculating and posting journal adjustments and liaising with the external accountant and dealing with queries 
  • Making weekly payments to DAM in HK 
  • Salaries – check salaries prepared by payroll company and set up BACS payments (monthly and period salaries so usually twice a month). Posting salary journals on Sage 
  • Responsible for smooth running of accounts office including covering Val when on annual leave/out of office 
  • Cash Management including all company bank accounts and foreign currency accounts 
  • Weekly bank reconciliations in UK/monthly reconciliations for foreign currency accounts 
  • Maintaining freight shipping costing spreadsheet 

Requirements for job: 

  • AAT qualified 
  • Knowledge of Sage and/or QuickBooks 
  • Good excel skills 
  • Good all round accounts / accounting experience

Irregular Choice are looking for a French-speaking Customer Service Assistant is going from strength to strength, bringing iconic and unique fashion footwear to our fans all over the world, and we are looking to expand the ECommerce team in our central Brighton Head Office.  The role will be focused on assisting our French and English speaking online customers and fans on a day-to-day basis.  Your daily tasks could range from answering calls and emails, tracking deliveries, resolving complaints, liaising with our warehouse, couriers, store or head office staff, to translating copy and answering queries on Social Media.

 Key Skills

  • Fluent and accurate in both English and French languages, spoken and written
  • Experience dealing with customers via email, social media and over the telephone
  • An unshakable sense of duty and personal responsibility to provide the best service possible
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritise issues minute to minute
