We've gone wacky for weddings and batty for all things bridal! To honour all things romance, we have dedicated the whole month of February to celebrating the Irregular Choice 'Month of Love'!

Any blushing brides to be or gorgeous grooms out there? Then have we got something special for you?

Vicky Dubois is a wedding photographer extraordinaire and has kindly shared some of her favourite Irregular Choice photos with us, as well as some of her top tips on how to make the most of your wedding photographer!

Tell us a little about yourself...

'Hi, I'm Vicky! I'm a wedding photographer based in the North West of England. I got my Photography Degree from Lancaster University, where I studied Fashion and Fine Art Photography.'

Wedding Photography was the one subject I disliked as, to my knowledge, all weddings where the same and so was the photography. It wasn't until I was planning my own wedding that I discovered the alternative/personal side of the wedding industry. It was fun, fresh and very very individual. I'm the kind of person that strives to do the complete opposite of what everyone says should be done!'

We had a Llandudno Registry Office ceremony with fish & chips and a pint on Conwy Quay. Followed by a garden party up in the hills where there was nothing but fun and games. No first dance. No cake cut. If it wasn't for my dad, there would have been no speeches either!!'

'Meeting alternative dress makers and being introduced to the most amazingly unique wedding suppliers was the turning point in my little business.'

What's been your favourite shoot?

'I absolutely love every wedding I attend as they are all so different. Each couple is unique as well as the reasons for their styles and themes. If I had to choose one, it would have to be that of my oldest friends Michelle and Kerry. They had the most intimate day with just 24 of their closest friends and family, and their theme was based on 'Alice in Wonderland'.

'Michelle's dress was amazing! She wore a white dress adorned with huge pink roses under layers of tulle and Kerry wore a 'Mad Hatter' inspired suit with waistcoat and a matching Wonderland themed buttonhole by the very talented 'Maddison Rock's Floral'. Then, to finish it all off Michelle wore the most stunning pink and white polka-heart 'Irregular Choice' shoes that worked perfectly with her dress.'

'I also do a lot of styled wedding shoots with other wedding suppliers. Mainly for fun, but it's a great opportunity to meet new people and work with some incredibly creative people. My favourite photoshoot so far would have to be one we did for the 'Bliss North West Wedding Show' in Liverpool. We got the chance to shoot in the crazy 'Ghetto Golf' and the images where used all over the show pamphlets for everyone to see.'

Any tips for our readers?

'The best advice I could give a newly engaged couple, is to plan everything for YOU! Don't worry about what your great Auntie Betty will say about you not wearing a white dress or what your mum thinks about your ceremony decision. Your wedding is YOURS! Do it for YOU! And don't let anyone dim your shine!'

What inspires you?

'Each individual couple inspires me. Before anyone even books in, I take the time to get to know them first. It is so important to know your client personalities, their likes and dislikes before you can even imagine, as a photographer, how to shoot the day. Also, having a knowledge of Fashion and Fine Art Photography, influences me greatly. I find myself looking at art and fashion magazines to keep my ideas fresh and exciting.'

Describe your dream wedding to shoot!

'I don't exactly have a dream wedding exactly, just a couple who aren't afraid of being themselves. Obviously the weirder the better! I am however a sucker for a killer pair of shoes!'

'Whether your getting married or not, don't forget to do the things you love, be with the people you love and love yourself!'

We couldn't say it any better ourselves!
